How to Install the Frame?

How to Mount Your Display Frame Perfectly

A step-by-step guide for clean alignment, maximum support, and a flawless final result

Mounting your display frame correctly ensures your model looks balanced, secure, and professionally presented on the wall. While the process is simple, taking a few careful steps before drilling will guarantee the best possible outcome.

Below is a detailed walkthrough to help you install your frame the right way, without guesswork, damage, or unnecessary holes.

1. Frame Unboxing and Preparation

Your display frame arrives fully protected to prevent damage during transport. The corners are reinforced with foam, and the entire frame is wrapped to keep it clean and scratch-free.

Before you begin:

  • Carefully remove all outer packaging

  • Take off the foam corner protectors

  • Remove any plastic wrap or protective film

Place the frame on a flat surface and ensure it is completely unwrapped before moving on. This gives you full visibility and makes the next steps much easier.

2. Positioning the Car Model Correctly

This is the most important step of the entire installation process.

Always place your car model onto the frame before drilling anything into the back. Every  car is built differently, wheelbase, weight distribution, and center of gravity vary from model to model. Because of this, there is no single universal drilling point that works for every build.

By placing the car on the frame first, you can:

  • Identify the exact hanging points

  • Ensure the model sits straight and centered

  • Avoid unnecessary holes or misalignment

Once the model is positioned correctly, you can confidently:

  • Drill small pilot holes

  • Insert the screws

  • Tighten the hooks securely

Important note:
Any printed dots or markings on the back of the frame are reference points only. They are not pre-drilled guides and should not be used as exact drilling locations. Always mark your own hook positions based on your specific model.

The strongest and most universal hanging point for most cars is the area between the front wheels, often referred to as the front axle section. This location typically provides the best balance and long-term support.

We are currently building every supercar model to create precise, model-specific mounting guides. Until those are released, always rely on placing your car directly on the frame and marking your own hook points.

3. Measuring the Vertical Center of the Frame

To ensure your model sits at the correct height, use the included measurement tape to locate the vertical center of the frame.

This step helps you:

  • Visualize where the car will sit once mounted

  • Maintain consistent positioning across multiple frames

  • Avoid mounting the model too high or too low

Measuring the vertical center gives you better control over the final look and ensures the display feels intentional and symmetrical.

4. Finding and Marking the Hook Positions

Once the model placement and vertical alignment are confirmed, turn your attention to the back of the frame.

Place your measuring tape near the hook area on the rear side to identify the correct mounting zone. Based on the model’s weight and balance, mark the exact spots where the hooks will be installed.

Remember:

  • Do not drill into any printed reference dots

  • Drill small pilot holes only where you have personally marked

  • Insert the screws carefully and tighten the hooks until secure

Taking your time here ensures the frame remains strong, clean, and capable of supporting your car model for years to come.

Final Tip

Every carmodel is unique. The best installation results always come from careful positioning, accurate marking, and patient preparation. By following these steps, you’ll achieve a professional, gallery, quality display that highlights your build exactly as it deserves.
